Certified B Corporations are a new type of corporation, that harness the power of business to solve social and environmental problems. Unlike conventional corporations, whose highest priority is financial gain, B Corps recognize that true profitability only comes when companies also contribute to the greater well-being of people and planet.
B Corps inspire all businesses to compete not only to be the best in the world, but to be the best for the world. B Corps must go through a rigorous certification process to ensure they meet high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability. The "B" stands for "benefit," and B Corps are legally required to consider the impact of their decisions, not only on their shareholders, but also on their stakeholders (e.g., workers, suppliers, community, consumers and the environment).
Dhana Inc. takes B Corp goals to heart; we've woven environmental protection and social fairness right into our vision and our mission. We hope to use our eco-friendly fashion lines to help raise world consciousness about these important issues!
This month, Dhana is joining other B Corps for the B Corp Champions conference in the Pacific Northwest. There are currently more than 1,400 B Corps from more than 130 industries and from 42 countries with one unifying goal—to redefine success in business. We will meet with some of the world's leaders in areas of social and environmental responsibility and share tips on how to best promote responsible and ethical consumer practices.
